Annemarie & Daniel
Sometimes there are jobs that fill my heart with gratitude and happiness. Sometimes there are jobs where I meet extraordinary people that touch me deeply – and this was one of them. Creating this blog post made me a bit teary – I’m very sensitive … I have been known to cry at many weddings I’m shooting – but I hide it very well !
Annemarie asked me to document a morning at the Westmead Children’s hospital with her son Daniel. He was born premature and had been living there for over 6 months and was nearly ready to go home. This was a big transition for them and Annemarie wanted this part of their life to be recorded. I was so incredibly honored to be asked. In fact, I was a little bit nervous that I wouldn’t be able to capture what I wanted with the sensitivity and rawness I envisaged as I’ve never done a job quite like this before.
I hope to document more of Annemarie & Daniel’s life in the years to come – they are a special family.
